Two men indicted for U-Haul, barbershop thefts

HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – Two Southport men have been indicted on multiple charges in Chemung County, including possession of stolen property.

Christopher Decker is facing four charges in connection to an incident at the Horseheads U-Haul and Spencers Barbershop.

  1. Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree
  2. Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
  3. Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree
  4. Attempted Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree

According to court documents, Decker knowingly possessed stolen property exceeding $3,000, damaged a 2018 Chevrolet Express at the Horseheads U-Haul, and attempted to steal property exceeding $1,000 from Spencers Barbershop.

The attempted grand larceny at the barbershop occurred on or about June 15, 2019. The incidents at the Horseheads U-Haul occurred between Jule 2-21 of 2019.

Jordan Gerbasi is facing six charges related to the incidents at the U-Haul and barbershop.

  1. Grand Larceny in the Third Degree
  2. Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree
  3. Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
  4. Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree
  5. Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree
  6. Attempted Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree

Court documents allege that Gerbasi stole property exceeding $3,000 from the U-Haul.
