The National Weather Service has continued the Flash Flood Watch for Bradford County until 6AM Friday. All other Flash Flood Watches have expired at this time.
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Flash Flood Watch for a portion of central New York, including the following areas, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga (NY) , Tompkins, and Yates from 8 AM this morning through this afternoon.
The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Flash Flood Watch for a portion of central Pennsylvania, including Tioga County (PA) from noon today through late tonight.
Recent rainfall has made the ground very wet. A few rounds of showers and thunderstorms will affect the region today into early tonight. The heaviest rain will occur in thunderstorms which are expected to form this afternoon and last into the evening. The rain may be heavy enough to cause flash flooding.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move through central New York this morning into the afternoon. Some storms will contain heavy rain, capable of producing localized flash flooding. Areas with recent rainfall will be particularly vulnerable.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
