He’s overseen Watkins Glen International Racetrack. Now he wants to oversee Chemung County’s Fourth Legislative District.
Michael Printup is the latest contender to announce his run for Chemung County Legislature.
He’s been president of the world-famous racetrack since 2009.
Printup said he’s confident his business background would benefit him in county government over incumbent Joseph Brennan.
“I know finances, I know leadership, I know how to manage people, I know how to work with people and I know how to be a team-player,” Printup said. “I think that’s the best part and that’s what’s propelled me to want to do this.”
His top issue is jobs. He said he’s talked to residents who say jobs are their main concern, followed by education and drugs.
Printup added the legislative role would not hinder his position as president of WGI.
