This farm is just one of many properties in the Twin Tiers impacted by flooding from last nights storm. An entire creek overflowed onto Mark Dilrymple’s property. He and his wife have been working tirelessly to clean up the mess.
Mark says, “We woke up to phone calls. We stepped outside and we were just surrounded by water. We couldn’t even get across the driveway here. Another neighbor stopped by. He came over and got us so we could go back and check on the horses. They were standing in about a foot of water and mud.”
His fences were knocked down and trees and other sediment were washed onto his farm. He estimates that the total cost for repairs and replacements for the items that were destroyed will be around $60,000.
Mark says this is the 3rd time in a month that he’s had to deal with flooding. He hopes that the worst of it is over.
