A Twin Tiers family could possibly get closure after a loved one disappeared nearly a decade ago. Police uncovered the bones thought to be those of a local man who vanished and was never found. 

The Elmira Heights police department started the investigation after they say personal items found at the scene, including a New York State driver’s license, are leading them to believe these are the remains of then 48 year old Randy Nichols— a missing person they’ve been looking for since 2010. 

Thousands of years of history were up in flames over the weekend. The steeple of the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral toppled as the church became engulfed in flames. 29 Shenendowa students who were on a cultural exchange program were some of the last to see the historic building of worship. 

It may be harder for you to travel next year if you dont have the golden stamp of approval. The New York department of motor vehicles is encouraging New Yorkers to get the real ID.

Beginning October 1, 2020, a standard New York state license will not be accepted for domestic air travel without additional documentation like a passport.
