ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — Two cars collide, sending 5 people to the hospital. the crash happened near Ithaca’s Buttermilk Falls. One person was airlifted to a regional trauma center. The other four were taken by ambulance. There’s no word on the seriousness of their injuries.

Members of the armed forces will no longer have to pay marriage license fees in the state of New York. Governor Cuomo signed the new legislation Tuesday. It also gives local governments the freedom to waive the fees they charge for marriage certificates for active duty service members and their spouses.

A new piece of legislation is being introduced to eliminate school property taxes in the state of Pennsylvania. It’s something lawmakers have been trying to do for years. To offset the cost, local personal income tax would increase 1.85 percent, to be paid directly to the school district. However, some are questioning whether new taxes would be enough to make up for the 14 billion dollars needed to fund public schools.
