Loved ones said goodbye in New York to a young man killed in last month’s mass shooting at a popular food festival in northern California.
25-year-old Trevor Irby was one of the three people killed when a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy garlic festival.
Irby’s friends remembered him very fondly as they mourned their loss.
Tally McDonald, Trevor’s friend since childhood saying “Trevor was a superstar. He would walk into a room and he was the kind of person who would want to beat you in everything that there was – any type of competition that was going on. He wanted to dance and sing and have as much fun as he could have with everybody that was there, and always made everybody feel as though they mattered as well.”
Funeral services were held on Thursday.
The funeral was held at Romulus central school, where Irby graduated in 2012.
