The grand opening of a new wine bar in Hornell Wednesday night is just one of many new businesses that the area has to look forward to.
Other economic developments continue to evolve in the community.
After Governor Cuomo granted $500 million dollars to the Southern Tier last year, and Alstom Transport locked in a multi-billion dollar contract, Mayor Shawn Hogan says things are falling into place.
“When your major employer garners a 2.5 billion dollar contract, you’re going to attract the interest of developers to actually find a need and fill it here locally,” Hornell Mayor Shawn Hogan said. “A lot of that’s going on in housing and in commercial and retails efforts – a brand new hospital that’s under planning is going to be under construction, and a new $55 million dollar structure to serve the health care needs of the region.”
Hogan adds that Main Street will also see plenty of new action, and that the Maple City is blessed for what’s to come.
