Monroe County cut the ribbon on its new Savanna exhibit at the Seneca Park Zoo Thursday morning.

The expansion will feature species including giraffes, zebras, ostriches, a white rhino and rock hyrax, among others.

The giraffes and zebras arrived last month, but were given time to adjust to the new setting before the zoo opened the exhibit.

The zoo is open each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until November 1. Between November 1 and April, the hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
