New Soaring Eagles meet their tribe

News

Future Soaring Eagles filled Meier Hall at Elmira College with bags and bedding in tow on Friday morning for summer orientation.

The two-day event gives students and parents the opportunity to prepare for school in the fall.

Orientation leaders use games and group activities to find similarities and create connections among the new students.

“Anything from your traditional ice breakers to what we call finding your flock because we’re the Soaring Eagles,” George Kuntz, Director of Campus Engagement at Elmira College, said. “Really it’s mixing and mingling so that our students can really find their people, find their tribe.”

Parents were also welcome to stay and to learn more about the place their children would spend the next four years.
