Three people in Tompkins County are in jail without bail after they were arrested in connection with the murder of a Newfield man.

Colleen McColgin of Dryden, 37, Jamie Gerhart of Ithaca, 38, and Roy Clements Jr., 39, of Ithaca have been charged with second-degree murder.

The investigation began when Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a report of a man suffering a heart attack at a home on Burdge Hill Road around 5:02 a.m.

They found Camden Rundell, 30, Friday morning unresponsive in the backyard of a home on Burdge Hill Road and initially ruled it a suspicious death.

The Sheriff’s Office began investigating the case as a homicide after an autopsy on Saturday.

Then on Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office announced three arrests.

Still no word on a motive or how police believe the 30-year-old was killed.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at (607) 266-5420 or the Tompkins County Communication Center at (607) 272-2444.
