A pedestrian is recovering tonight after being hit by a car near the Express Mart at the corner of Sly St. and Maple Ave. on Elmira’s southside Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 5:30 as wintry weather was making for a slippery commute for motorists.
According to the Elmira Police Department, the pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.
Police say the driver of the car involved was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
