Pennsylvania ranks near bottom of Best States list

(WTAJ) — U.S. News has put out their Best States Rankings for 2019 and Pennsylvania has taken a sharp decline over the past few years.

In 2017, Pa. was ranked at number 30, followed by number 38 in 2018.

This year Pennsylvania was ranked 41 out of 50, a drop of 11 positions in just 3 years.

The list looks at each state in terms of:

  • Healthcare
  • Education
  • Economy
  • Infrastructure
  • Opportunity
  • Fiscal Stability
  • Crime & Corrections
  • Natural Environment

Number one on the list is Washington state, the home of Amazon. 

Louisiana finishes the list as number 50.
