Pennsylvania unemployment rates hit lowest mark since 1976


HARRISBURG, DAUPHIN COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate continues to drop, hitting the lowest rates since 1976.

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry released its latest employment report today, showing the unemployment rate dropped one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.8% in April. This is just above the national rate, which was down two-tenths of a percentage point from the March figures and is now at 3.6%.

Over the last 12 months, jobs have increased in the Commonwealth by 58,300, with Education and Health Services showing the largest gains.
