An East Irondequoit school bus driver has been accused of driving a school bus while drunk.
Anderson Hollins was arraigned Monday night on charges. He’s facing seven counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child and one count of aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Police say he had a blood alcohol content above .08.
In a release Wednesday morning, officers say there were seven kids, ages 5 to 11, on board Hollins’ bus. The kids were being transported from Holy Cross School on Lake Avenue.
No one was hurt.
Police say Hollins was arrested after he submitted to a random alcohol test performed by a vendor working for the district. The East Irondequoit school district has confirmed for us that Hollins is on paid administrative leave.
He will be back in court this Friday.
