NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP)- Police say a gunfight broke out around a big party in western New York, and a man was wounded.

The Niagara Town Police Department says an officer was near the Power City Lodge around 2:45 a.m. Thursday when he heard gunfire, then saw a Cadillac SUV driving off fast.

Officers followed the SUV and saw it leave a wounded man in a Lewiston parking lot. The SUV fled as officers stopped to help the man, who is hospitalized and expected to survive.

The police department says it appears multiple people exchanged gunshots at the lodge. It hosts various different social events and shows.
