ELMIRA, N.Y. (NBC/WETM-TV) – On Tuesday, a house committee rolled back the calendar to January 6th and the attack on the U.S. Capitol.

From left, Sgt. Aquilino Gonell of the US Capitol Police, Officer Michael Fanone of the DC Metropolitan Police, Officer Daniel Hodges of the DC Metropolitan Police and Private First Class Harry Dunn of the US Capitol Police listen as they testify before the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol on July 27, 2021 at the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, DC. Members of law enforcement testified about the attack by supporters of former President Donald Trump on the U.S. Capitol. According to authorities, about 140 police officers were injured when they were trampled, had objects thrown at them, and sprayed with chemical irritants during the insurrection. For the first time, never-before-seen video footage was shown. The committee also heard very emotional testimony of officers caught on the front lines to investigate what happened and why.
