University at Albany officials will be opening a time capsule sealed inside a campus building in 1964.

The ceremony on Tuesday is part of the state school’s 175th-anniversary celebration.

The time capsule was sealed into the cornerstone of a dormitory constructed in 1964. Dutch Quad was the first dormitory to open on the university’s Uptown Campus.

The state Legislature approved the New York State Normal School 175 years ago. It later became the University at Albany.
