Bridge fire breaks out over the Hudson river

A major fire broke out on a three-mile-long bridge over the Hudson river in New York on Monday.

The flames created a traffic nightmare.

Traffic camera video shows vehicles engulfed in flames in the right lanes of the Cuomo bridge and billowing black smoke.

The bridge connects Tarrytown and Nyack, New York.

Police say around 3:30 Monday afternoon an r-v pulling a car burst into flames on the bride.

It’ s still not clear how it happened.

Police don’t believe it involved a collision.

Luckily the four passengers managed to get out of the r-v without getting hurt.

The fire backed up traffic for miles.
