Buffalo police: 12-year-old killed by stray bullet on William Street

Buffalo police say a 12-year-old boy was killed after being shot by a stray bullet on Saturday night on William Street.

The shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. in the 400 block of William Street, between downtown and Buffalo’s East Side.

Police said the 12-year-old taken to Oishei Children’s Hospital and was declared deceased at 10:30 p.m. 

Police said a second victim, a 22-year-old man, is recovering from gunshot wounds.

According to police, a car had been shot at several times in the Town Gardens parking lot. Police found a number of shell casings at the scene.  

Police said the 12-year-old was upstairs in an apartment near the parking lot when the shooting occurred. 

No arrests have been made at this time, according to Buffalo Police.
