47-year-old Vivian Rodriguez of Cheektowaga will spend nine years in state prison and five years post-release supervision for plotting to kill her boyfriend.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn says on September 6 of last year Rodriguez attempted to cause the death of her boyfriend while acting with another person.
She allowed a co-conspirator to enter her boyfriend’s home on 10th street in Buffalo, where the individual then attempted to murder the victim with a machete, according to officials.
The victim woke up during the struggle and killed the attacker out of self-defense.
Rodriguez tried to rid of any video evidence of the crime by removing the victim’s security camera and putting it inside her vehicle.
She pleaded guilty to attempted murder and tampering with physical evidence in February.
