The family of an FDNY veteran and father of three who was killed in Afghanistan received an outpouring of support after his death.
The Stephen Siller tunnel -2- towers foundation made the pledge to pay off the family’s mortgage of Christopher Slutman and encouraged all Americans and New Yorkers, in particular, to help with the effort.
Slutman, a 15-year veteran of the FDNY and Staff Sgt. with the United States Marines, was known as someone who always stepped up to help others in need.
He was on active duty in Afghanistan on Monday, April 8 when he was killed by an I-E-D.
