New drivers in Central New York learned about driver safety on Saturday, June 15, at the State Fairgrounds.
“Ford Driving Skills for Life” helped teach young drivers skills including hazard recognition, vehicle handling, and speed and space management.
Another session will be held today June 16, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on at the Fairgrounds.
Newly-licensed drivers or teens with a permit can participate.
Each year an average of 3,000 teens ages 16-19 die in car crashes. The focus of this event is to educate young drivers on the importance of safety when they get behind the wheel.
