Nichols man arrested for robbing bank

NICHOLS, N.Y. (WETM) – A 31-year-old Nichols man has been charged after a bank robbery in the village.

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Community Bank on East River Road on Friday, Aug. 30 around 12:15 p.m. to reports of a man displaying a pistol and demanding money.

Following the initial investigation, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Adam M. Robinson for Robbery first degree (class B felony), Criminal use of a firearm first degree (class B felony), and Grand larceny fourth degree (class E felony).

Robinson was arraigned in the Nichols Town Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.

Robinson is scheduled to reappear in the Nichols Town Court on September 4.

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by members of the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
