There are reports Wednesday morning that the Deputy Chemung County Executive has filed a lawsuit against the Chemung County Sheriff.
The Star Gazette is reporting, Mike Krusen filed the lawsuit Tuesday against Sheriff Christopher Moss.
The lawsuit, filed with the Chemung County Clerk’s Office, accuses the sheriff of libel in connection with accusations that Krusen improperly used his county-issued gas card, according to the paper.
Both men are expected to run for county executive in the near future.
18 NEWS reported back in May of this year, the Sheriff’s Office said Krusen was still using his county issued gas card even after he went from a full-time to part-time employee. However, Krusen told 18 NEWS the card is part of his current pay package with the county, and it was issued to him by the Sheriff’s Office.
