Actress, director, and comedienne Penny Marshall has died at the age of 75, TMZ reports.
The tabloid reports that Marshall died from complications from diabetes at her home in Hollywood Hills Monday night.
Marshall’s big break was starring as Laverne on “Laverne & Shirley” in the 70s and early 80s. But, Marshall had a second life as a director as well, heading up films including “Big” and “A League of Their Own.”
In a statement to TMZ, Marshall’s family writes: “Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall. Penny was a tomboy who loved sports, doing puzzles of any kind, drinking milk and Pepsi together and being with her family.”
