Ride for the Red raises money for The American Red Cross and Service to Armed Forces

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) — Brian McConnell and Myles Baker stopped by 18 News Today to discuss the 11th annual “Ride for the Red”.

“Ride for the Red” is an annual motorcycle ride that raises money for the American Red Cross and the Service to the Armed forces (SAF) program. The ride is open to the public. It kicks off at the Big Flats American Legion on Saturday, August 31.

The ride will depart at 10:30 a.m. and costs $25 per passenger. Riders can pre-register here.

On September 7, there will be a military family salute and barbecue at the Elmira Elks Lodge 62 located at 96 Eldridge park Dr. in Elmira. This event is free to all veterans, active duty service members and military families. It starts at Noon and ends at 2 p.m.
