Elmira residents lined College Avenue for the last night of the Santa House. Santa and Mrs. Claus took pictures and greeted families. A few other guests made special appearances including Mickey and Minnie mouse, a gingerbread man and a snowman.
As many Elmira natives know, this is a tradition that was started nearly 40 years ago by the Benjamin-Simons family.
Charles Benjamin, the current owner of the house said, “My brother and I can honestly say, there’s no better feeling. Seeing the kids run around, seeing everything and just people giving to other people, we love it.” He and his family plan to continue the tradition for years to come.
