A Saratoga man who was found dead at his desk at Google’s New York City headquarters on Friday is now being remembered by those who knew him in the Capital Region.

22-year-old Scott Krulcik spent many of his formative years at a martial arts and wilderness education facility in Greenfield Center. James Bruchac teaches martial arts and also helps run this wilderness education facility in Greenfield Center.

“Scott just had a fever for learning. He always gave 100% and put 100% into everything he did.”

Bruchac says Scott quickly excelled in his martial arts training and also had a love of the outdoors. That’s why Bruchac says they’ll be honoring him in a special way.

“Making a trail. Naming it after him. And putting a time capsule there that will capture images people will write notes of him memories of him.”

Scott graduated top 10 in his class from Saratoga springs high school in 2014, and went on to study computer science at Carnegie Mellon university.

One of his professors there writing in a tribute:

“Scott’s positivity and energy was infectious in our research group and beyond.”

Police in New York City have not yet released the cause of death but say there were no signs of trauma and no foul play suspected.
