Steuben County has a new Animal Cruelty Officer.
According to our newspaper partner The Leader, Deputy Todd Terwilliger of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office has been selected as the new full time investigator on cases dealing with animal cruelty.
It was announced last fall that the Finger Lakes SPCA out of Bath would no longer handle those types of cases once their Animal Cruelty Investigator stepped down.
Terwilliger is currently training for his new position, and tells The Leader one of his main goals as Animal Cruelty Officer will be to educate and remind Steuben County residents how to properly care for pets and farm animals.
