Three Steuben County corrections officers were recognized Monday by the county Legislature’s Public Safety and Corrections Committee for their recent life-saving efforts.

County Sheriff Jim Allard told the committee corrections officers Branden Erskine and Joshua Turner, and Sgt. Donald Strittmatter assessed an unidentified inmate’s life-threatening situation May 19 and acted as a team to save the individual’s life.

“Their actions saved the life of a citizen of Steuben County are examples of our core values of professionalism, integrity, leadership, and service,” Allard said.
