Corrections Officers in Steuben County are being recognized after saving the life of an inmate in early February 2019.
The exact nature of the incident was not released by the department, but according to Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard the actions of seven officers prevented a catastrophe.
“It is my understanding the inmate suffered no lasting ill effects,” Allard told the county Legislature’s Public
Safety and Corrections Committee Monday. “That was thanks to the absolutely quick response of the officers and the teamwork they exhibited.”
County corrections officers Jenn Smith, Brian Flynn, Brian Harrison, Angelo Sciotti, Daniel Cox, William Burd, and Brandon Owen were recognized Monday for their life-saving efforts.
