The four suspects charged with murder in the death of Penfield’s Craig Rideout were arraigned on Monday at the Hall of Justice in Rochester.
The district attorney’s office attempted to get the suspects’ bail raised, but the judge denied the request, saying the second degree murder charges were no surprise, and the circumstances have not changed.
Laura Rideout and Paul Tucci are currently out on $50,000 bond, after putting Tucci’s home in Fairport up for bond. Colin and Alex Rideout are out on $25,000 bail.
The district attorney states they are hoping to try all four suspects together.
Laura Rideout, her two sons Colin and Alex, and her boyfriend Paul Tucci were previously indicted on charges of second degree murder and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of Craig Rideout.
Craig Rideout, 50, was reported missing on July 20. Yates County investigators found his body in a wooded area later that day, wrapped in a tarp and bound with bungee cords.
Monroe County Sheriff’s investigators say Rideout’s sons Colin and Alex tried to dump gloves, solvents and drain cleaner into a pond at Mendon Ponds Park.
Rideout’s abandoned vehicle was found at a park-and-ride near Bushnell’s Basin.
Laura Rideout and Tucci were caught on surveillance cameras at the Hudson Avenue Walmart hours before Rideout went missing. Investigators say they purchased materials to cover up the killing.
All four suspects have been ordered to remain with Monroe, Wayne, and Ontario County.
