Teen mothers could have increased risk for heart disease

News

Women who give birth as teens may have an increased risk for heart disease.

That’s according to a University of Hawaii study of over 1,000 women.

Those who had their first child before they were 20, were much more likely than older moms to have risk factors for heart disease.

Experts say young mothers may need more intensive screenings for cardiovascular disease as they age.
