The Elmira Ladies of Charity are ready for Easter as they are packing Easter baskets to be distributed to children in the community.

The project is one of the biggest the Ladies of Charity do throughout the year. They have spent months fundraising and collecting donations to make it all possible.

The group started the Easter basket project twenty years ago.

Deb Sullivan “We actually try to get a gauge from the people at the Samaritan Center and the Salvation Army. We can’t fulfill all of them but we’ve kind of go off what their need is and what we can handle.”

100 baskets will go to the Salvation Army and another 100 baskets will be sent to the Samaritan Center.
