Three arrested in Barton after crystal meth bust

Three people have been arrested after a search warrant was executed at State Route 17C in the Town of Barton.

Members of SP Owego, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, and the Waverly Police Department discovered one gram of crystal methamphetamine, suboxone strips, a digital scale and packaging material upon executing the search warrant.

Richard E. Griffith, Sr. has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Felony), Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Felony), and two counts of Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor).

Richard E. Griffith, Jr has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Misdemeanor), Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Felony), and two counts of Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor).

Joshua M. Chapman has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Felony), Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Felony), and two counts of Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Misdemeanor).

All three defendants were arraigned in the Town of Owego Court, where they were remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 property bond.
