Three teenagers involved in icy road crash


A vehicle carrying three teenagers struck a tree in Deerfield Township on Saturday, Jan. 19 after the driver failed to negotiate the icy road.

Nineteen-year-old Mackenzie Potter of Ulysses, Pa. was driving a 2016 Toyota Tacoma southbound on Merrick Hill Road. The vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, hitting several trees and shrubbery before resting on the west side of the road facing southbound.

Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield notes that the road was covered with snow and ice when the crash happened shortly before 4:00 p.m.

The two passengers, one male and one female, are both 17-years-old.

No injuries were reported and the driver was issued a citation.
