Lost, again!

Alan Dale, who played the enigmatic Charles Widmore on ABC’s island drama, has signed on to guest-star on Once Upon a Time, has confirmed.

Once the father of Penny Widmore (Sonya Walger), Dale will now play the dad of Josh Dallas‘ Prince Charming, according to, which first reported the news. (Here’s hoping his parenting skills are a bit less harsh than last time).

Once Upon a Time, executive-produced by Lost‘s Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, tells the story after the happily ever after, when the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) has cast a spell upon all the fairy-tale characters, freezing them in time in the town of Storybrooke. Little does she know, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is not only the daughter of Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), but she’s also the key to rescuing the residents of Storybrooke.

Once Upon a Time premieres Sunday, Oct. 23 at 8/7c.
