ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM-TV) – The Near Westside Neighborhood Association held its 14th annual “Elmira Blooms” garden tour on Sunday from noon to 4pm.
This year, “Elmira Blooms” included eight showcase gardens.
Participants traveled across Elmira visiting amazing showcase garden arrangements that owners have spent many long days, weeks, and even months creating. Some gardeners had arrangements they even have been working on for years.
This annual event is a tradition that brings the community together and allows for people to see parts of their community they may have never experienced before.
“I just think it’s another opportunity for everyone to see the beauty that’s around us,” Executive Director at Near Westside Neighborhood Association Beth Farr. “I really think that so often we hear about negative things. But today it’s about the sunshine and the flowers and just fun,” added Farr.
Participants in the self guided tour also were able to enjoy light refreshments from Gemini Catering and Barbeque at Chamberlain Acres along with multiple raffle opportunities.
