ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) The Elmira ICE 12U basketball team is qualified for the AAU Nationals, but they are asking the community they represent for help in order to make the trip to Hamptons, Virginia.

The team has set up a GoFundMe page to raise $5,000 to offset costs for travel and lodging. They qualified back on May 4th when they won the AAU’s Niagara District Championship.

“As you know it is expensive to play travel ball and us as a team (including parents) make it work by doing local fundraisers to pay for tournaments throughout the year but this nationals trip is on a whole different level,” The page organizer wrote on the GoFundMe page.

The page said all proceeds will go to the team. For more details or if you would like to donate, click here to be taken to the GoFundMe page.
