Elmira, NY (WETM – TV) – Boces of the Southern Tier is helping young adults land jobs as truck drivers.
Their growing CDL driving program is helping many get out into the workforce.
With the need for truck drivers at a high, it is enabling many young students, mostly out of high school to get a CDL license and become drivers.
A few students said, it’s been beneficial.
“It’s great because it’s local and I was looking around at different schools, everything happens for a reason., said Adam Ravert.
Ravert’s friend echoed those sentiments.
“Local is a plus, I was looking at other schools, they didn’t have as much one – on – one time,” said former CDL Boces student Tim Vanderpool.
Both men mentioned this has been a great program for them. It provides them with the chance to get out on the road, doing something they enjoy, and be a part of the workforce.
