UPDATE 11:41 pm 12/04/2020- According to the parents of the assaulted child, both Jordan Bryan and Haleigh Porter say their daughter is fighting for her life.

Two-month-old Ellie Bryan is currently in Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, suffering from severe brain damage and she may not be able to walk or talk.

According to Porter, the incident happened on November 23, during her first day at work at a daycare. Porter said she was unable to take her child to work because of shot records that Ellie needed to have.

According to the mother, Kelly was caring for the baby at the time when he placed baby Ellie on his chest, allegedly Baby Ellie Bryan and Andrew Kelly collided with a head-butt.

Both Ellie’s parents say she is beginning to get her strength back and they both are by her side in this trying time.

Kelly will allegedly have several court appearances, the first being Monday.

This is an active investigation. We expect to learn more from state police in the coming days.

CATLIN, N.Y. (WETM) – Andrew Kelly, 33, was arrested by New York State Police in Horseheads for Assault 1st Degree, a class B Felony and Assault 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

Kelly was arraigned on the two felony charges in the town of Big Flats Court and was committed to the Chemung County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 property bond.  

The New York State Police were assisted by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department and Schuyler County Child Protective Service. Schuyler County Sheriff William Yessman tells 18 News that the department assisted in attempting to locate Kelly prior to his arrest.
