HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) – A car wash benefit was held for a child battling cancer.

The event, held at JW Detailing in Horseheads showed an outpouring of support for 14-month-old, Kyler James.

Kyler, who was living a normal child’s life, was found to have a large lump in his abdomen by his sitter.

She immediately called Kyler’s Mom and Dad, Ashley Baysinger and Carl Wood.

They took him to the ER at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, where Radiology exams and lab work were performed.

The results came back that Kyler had a mass in his abdomen and diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.

According to family and friends, it has not been an easy road.

“The treatments are going well,” said Kyler’s mom Ashley Baysinger. “It took a big toll on Kyler,” continued Baysinger.

The community has come out to support the family and the difficult situation.

“We need a lot of prayers for him,” said Anne Wood. “So this is a way to get those prayers out to tell people that Kyler needs your support in that way.”

Both ladies said they are thankful for the community’s response to Kyler’s health battle and look forward to his speedy recovery.
