ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. (WETM) – There are new developments Monday night around a crash this past Saturday in Elmira Heights. According to the police there, the driver has died.
Heights Police said the driver may have suffered a medical episode while driving, and his death was not a result of the crash.
The car left the roadway heading north on College Avenue Saturday morning. It struck a tree stump and then a tree.
Police said they found the driver unconscious and attempted to perform CPR.
The driver was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
