BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WETM – TV) – Guthrie Hospital opened a specialties and rehabilitation services building in Big Flats.

An increase in the number of patients lead to these new renovations in an effort to increase the patient volume the facility can receive.

In addition, new services will be offered such as orthopedics, occupational medicine, cardiology, pain management, and other specialties rotating on a regular basis.

A new hand therapy department has also been added allowing patients with hand injuries to get the proper care they need.

“The thing that I like most about this setup is that I’m able to talk to the therapists,” said Chief of Orthopedics Joseph Choi. “Both the physical therapist and the occupational therapist. There is good communication therefore it translates to good patient care.”
