One-car accident reported in Schuyler County, driver airlifted to Strong Memorial

UPDATE: According to the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, the one-car motor vehicle accident occurred on State Route 414 in the Town of Hector at approximately 5:49 p.m. The vehicle was traveling just south of Covert Road when it left the roadway and rolled over.

The single occupant of the vehicle was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The names and conditions of the occupants are being withheld at this time, pending notification to the family. 

The investigation is currently ongoing. The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Burdett Fire Department, Schuyler Ambulance, New York State Police and Life Net.  


UPDATE: 18 News was on the scene of a major accident in Schuyler County Monday night.

Witnesses tell our reporter on the scene a car was traveling southbound in Burdett when the driver allegedly hit a guide rail and rolled into an open field.

The vehicle was totaled and picked up by a tow truck. The front of the car was smashed with the hood pushed into the front window.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office. The driver’s condition remains unknown at this time.

BURDETT, N.Y. (WETM) — A serious accident has been reported on Route 414 in Schuyler County.

According to viewers, the accident is near the Solera Tap House in Burdett along Seneca Lake. A landing zone is being set up at Clute Park in Watkins Glen, about five minutes from the accident scene.
