Drivers in the City of Elmira will notice a change in traffic patterns, beginning Monday, July 8, in the N. Main Street Cultural Connector Project Corridor.
The roadway reconstruction phase of Elmira’s downtown Cultural Connector Project will begin next week. All Park Place traffic between W. Third and W. Clinton Streets will be detoured onto North Main Street until early September.
Drivers are advised that travel on N. Main Street between W. Third and W. Clinton Streets will temporarily operate as 2-way traffic, flowing in both directions during this period.
North Main Street will revert back to one-way travel once construction is complete.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) and detour signage are in place to help drivers travel through the corridor.
