First Heritage Federal Credit Union donated a large check to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

It will benefit thousands of families across our community.

For two months First Heritage donated $10 for every auto loan they received in collaboration with 9 dealerships across our community who also pledged $10 to the Food Bank. First Heritage was able to come up with over $7,500 dollars today after collecting money in the months of April and May.

“Twenty-two thousand meals will be able to be distributed out to our community members who are in need with this check alone,” said Food Bank of the Southern Tier Major Giving Officer Krista Matia.

According to Business Sales Manager Julie Monahan, it’s a good feeling.

“It makes us feel really great but knowing that were impacting so many people that really need it. We’re here for more then just financial needs you know we are really a partner in the community and that is something that we are proud of.”

The Food Bank said the majority of this check is going to come into good use with children now being out of school for the summer and not receiving meals at school everyday.
