CATLIN, N.Y. (WETM) – Two people were arrested for leaving their two young children home alone while they went grocery shopping.

Chemung County 911 received an anonymous tip that a one-year-old and two-year-old child were left home alone. A neighbor told police that they saw the homeowners walk to the local Dollar General, and no one answered the door when police arrived.

Tyler Pack, 26 of Horseheads, told police he had been gone for 10 minutes and that the children were asleep. Marcia Buman, 25 of Pine Valley, also told police her and Pack went to the store to get groceries.

Both Pack and Buman were arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and are to appear in the Town of Catlin Court at a later date. Chemung County CPS will be following up with the incident.
