One person arrested after multi-county police chase

UPDATE (4:29 p.m.): One person has been taken into custody after a police chase that stretched through Schuyler and Chemung County.

According to Schuyler County Sheriff William Yessman, the pursuit started in the Village of Montour Falls after a traffic violation. The suspect struck a Sheriff’s patrol vehicle and continued into the Village of Odessa and Town of Veteran.

The suspect was lost on Johnson Hollow Road and later found in Monterey.

Charges are pending and the suspect’s identity has not yet been released.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police and the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office. 


BEAVER DAMS, N.Y. (WETM) – The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office is leading a search for a person after a vehicle pursuit that spanned across two counties.

The pursuit began in Montour Falls and went across Schuyler County before stretching into Chemung County. The vehicle was last seen near Johnson Hollow Road.

No description of the vehicle or the suspect is publically known at this time.

New York State Police tell 18 News that the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
